kathleen royster
Kathleen Royster worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska for fifteen years before she decided to return to college to receive her MFA from the University of Utah. She has had a successful career as an artist; has taught for Scripps College and the Metropolitan State College of Denver, directing both ceramics programs. Today she lives in a small artist community in historic Helper, Utah, two hours south of Salt Lake City, with her dog Sam. She has a studio on Main Street and is doing what she has always wanted – working as a studio potter making beautiful porcelain dinnerware. Her interests include 20th Century Art, Architecture and Design, objects of beauty, gardening and is a self-proclaimed “motor-head.”
