Massachusetts native Liz Kinder is a ceramic artist who has been working for 25 years, currently living and working in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her work is functional wheel-thrown pottery made from six different clay bodies and three different firing methods. Kinder makes most of her glazes, using wax resist for the surface. All pieces are food, microwave and dishwasher safe.
The artist received a Fine Arts BA in painting from Amherst College, taking a ceramics class her senior year rekindling an earlier interest in pottery. After living in San Francisco for a few years, the artist pursued and achieved a Masters degree from the Royal College of Art in London.
In 2004, Kinder moved to Philadelphia where she now lives with her family.
