Artist Mark Coppos makes functional and decorative pieces out of clay and wood. His ceramic forms are somewhat refined with rustic and volcanic glazes in subdued earthy shades.
His wood work, be it stools, benches and tables, are made with attention to proportion, structural detail, finish and careful use of the wood's existing attributes. The wood used is reclaimed walnut, purchased through a resource of cleared walnut trees abandoned for several years before coming into the artitst's hands. Coppos works alone, with great attention to process and uniqueness, not abundant quantity.
