I graduated with a degree in Fine Art from The Chouinard Art Institute in Downtown L.A. The school was the precursor to CalArts.
For four years I was an on-air reporter for “ARTS L.A.” on KCRW. I interviewed the most consequential artists and museum directors. I devised the questions and did my own recording and editing. I was a member of the Legendary “WET” Magazine crowd. The magazines are now collectables. For 15 years, I taught elementary school art in private schools. I also taught after school enrichment programs.
As time went on my focus on my personal work became more on making jewelry. I loved the 3-D aspect and knew I could bring something unique to the art form. I wanted to make objects that were functional. I continued making 2-D art on unusual surfaces such as embossing on copper and using pastels to draw on chalk board.
