Trained in fine art jewelry making, Hannah Keefe takes a supremely individual approach to the materials of chain and solder. Recalling ethnographic textiles, beadwork patterns, and modernist weavings, each piece is a laborious construction with special attention to balance and weight, color gradients, and a sculptural identity. Each piece uses an original process yielding different shape variations, kinetic details, and visual geometries. All work is handmade and reflects the slight variations between pieces. Hannah Keefe studied jewelry and metal smithing at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and lives and works in Los Angeles.
